MANUFACTURING AND CHARACTERIZATON OF WAAM-BASED BIMETALLIC CUTTING TOOL

Wire-arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) is a promising method to produce many functional components in different industries. In this method, the welding wires from feedstock are melted by arc discharge and deposited layer layer. Other having chemical compositions can also be added top of previously replacing feed wire stock bimetallic components. This study investigated feasibility using robotic technology cutting tool. The tool was produced depositing MSG 6 GZ-60 hard-facing on austenitic stainless-steel wall with ER 316LSi solid wire. cutting-based equipment requires an increased abrasion resistance combination ductility provide adequate life performance. Thus, detailed microstructural analysis hardness tests were conducted understand general characteristic manufactured tool, including interfaces between two materials.
